On 05-11-2018 at 2:04 pm, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the 2000-block of Bonham but the vehicle driver attempted to evade officers by accelerating. Officers observed the driver throwing contraband from the window as officers pursued the suspect vehicle. In the 100-block of NW 23rd, officers observed the driver throwing an unknown item from the window and then observed a pedestrian pick up the item and run away. After an approximate 15 minute pursuit, the vehicle stopped and the occupants, Quar’Montre Wallace (22 YOA male) and Wesley Neal (24 YOA male) were found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine. The items that were observed to be thrown from the vehicle were recovered and determined to be Xanax/Alprazolam tablets. Both Q. Wallace and Neal were placed under arrest and charged evading arrest/detention with a vehicle, and two charges of manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance. The pedestrian was identified as Markeith Wallace (40 YOA male) and was placed under arrest for tampering with physical evidence and a misdemeanor charge.

On 05-12-2018 at 8:52 am officers responded to the 4200-block of Lamar Ave. in regards to a suspicious activity complaint. Officers made contact with Derek Armstrong (28 YOA male) who was found to have an outstanding bond surrender warrant was placed under arrest.

On 05-12-2018 at 4:45 pm officers conducted a traffic stop in the 200-block of N. Main and as a result, made contact with Mark Francis (55 YOA male). Francis was found to have an outstanding warrant for unauthorized use of a vehicle and was placed under arrest. The warrant stemmed from a case which was reported on 04-11-2018 where Francis had allegedly test driven a vehicle from the 1700-block of W. Austin and did not return the vehicle.

On 05-13-2018 at 2:26 am, officers were in the 3000-block of NE Loop 286 when they observed the odor of marijuana coming from a vehicle, which was stationary at that location. Officers made contact with Stoney Wilkins (32 YOA male) who was found in possession of small amounts of marijuana, methamphetamine, and cocaine. Wilkins was placed under arrest for two charges of possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge.

On 05-13-2018 at 8:51 am, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 3500-block of Lamar Ave. and as a result, made contact with Octavius Beard (39 YOA male). Officers observed Beard throw something out the passenger window, which was later discovered to be marijuana. Beard was found to have outstanding warrants for criminal non-support and two misdemeanor charges. Beard was placed under arrest for the warrants, tampering with physical evidence, and a misdemeanor charge.

On 05-12-2018 at 3:27 pm, officers responded to a forgery complaint in the 900-block of Clarksville. It was reported that on 04-23-2018 a known suspect had passed a forged check at the business. The check was later discovered forged. The investigation is ongoing.

On 05-13-2018 at 1:47 pm, officers responded to the 1600-block of S. Main in regards to a burglary. It was reported that a possible known suspect had entered the building and took cash and a camera. The investigation is ongoing.

Paris Police responded to 291 calls for service and arrested 16 persons over the three-day weekend ending at 6:00 am on May 14.
