Paris Police Report For Tuesday, March 26

Kevin Delano Lockett

At 1:10 Tuesday morning, a traffic stop for a vehicle equipment violation in the 3400 block of Lamar Avenue resulted in the arrest of Kevin Delano Lockett, 57. Lockett was a passenger in the vehicle, and police observed him making furtive movements as the officer approached. Lockett volunteered his identification to the officer, and there were several misdemeanor traffic warrants. During a pat down of Lockett’s outer clothing, a round of .38 caliber ammunition was in his pocket. The driver of the vehicle consented to a search, and they found a .38 special revolver beneath the seat that Lockett had occupied. Both Lockett and the driver denied knowledge of the handgun. Since Lockett was seen making movements in the vehicle and had ammunition fitting the handgun, officers charged him with its possession. Police learned that Lockett was a convicted felon and charged him as a felon in possession.

Officers made 22 traffic stops, arrested one adult, and answered 89 calls for service for Monday, March 25.,
