Texas’ power grid operator is expecting record-breaking electricity demand this week. ERCOT expects daily demand to rise above 75,000 megawatts but says it has sufficient generation capacity to meet the forecasted demand. As a result, it doesn’t expect any brownouts or calls for Texans to reduce electricity use.
