Sentencing Phase Begins For NE Texas Man Guilty Of Kidnapping, Robbery

Xavier Lavar French, 20, pleaded guilty last week in New Boston to aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery. Today he faces a Bowie County jury for the punishment. Officials accused French of holding a gun to the head of a woman’s one-year-old son, pistol-whipping the woman, and other violent actions. Prosecutors say he has a lengthy criminal history.
