Sulphur Bluff Home Destroyed By Fire

A house on CR 3608 off FM 71 near the Sulphur Bluff community was destroyed by fire on Tuesday afternoon. Hopkins County Fire Chief Andy Endsley said heat from the blaze ignited ammunition inside the house. The cause of the fire was undetermined. Fire officials will be on the scene today to conduct a thorough investigation. The Red Cross and Salvation Army provided rehab to firefighters from Engine 20 and several volunteer departments and will assist the residents of the home. Information on whether anyone was inside the home has not been disclosed.
