Hartford and McCubbin named to PING All-Region teams by GCAA.

NORMAN, Okla. – Texas A&M University-Commerce men’s golfers Blake Hartford and Lucas McCubbin, named PING All-South Central Region, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Tuesday.

The duo led the Lions to as high as No. 8 in the Golfstat rankings during the season and the Lions’ first NCAA Division II Super Regional tournament berth in nine years.

McCubbin was the Lone Star Conference Golfer of the Year and a first-team all-LSC selection. He finished the season with a 72.52 stroke average, a pair of top-five finishes, and six top 10 finishes. He was runner-up at the St. Mary’s Rattler Invitational and the Arkansas-Fort Smith Hardscrabble Invitational. His 8-under par 64 in the second round of the season set school records for low series overall and to par.

Hartford was the champion of the Lone Star Conference Championship in his first season as a Lion. He had a season stroke average of 72.37 to lead the Lions. In addition to the LSC Championship, he had four top-five finishes and five top 10 finishes. The first team all-LSC selection was the runner-up at the Lion Invitational at Tanglewood and had ten rounds of 70 or better during the season.
