Telford Unit Inmate Accused Of Beating Correctional Officer

An inmate at the Telford State Prison Unit in New Boston appeared in Bowie County District Court for a pre-trial hearing. Bryan Austin White, of Kaufman County, is charged with assault of a public servant. It was after allegedly hitting a correctional officer so hard that he suffered a concussion, lacerations and required multiple stitches. Prosecutors say they will enhance the charges, and White faces up to life in prison if convicted.
