Texas House Moves On Trans Childrens Medical Treatment

The Texas House has taken a significant step toward banning transgender minors from getting puberty blockers and hormone therapy. In addition, it would ban trans people younger than 18 from getting specific transition-related care. The bill says that kids already accessing treatments must be “weaned off” in a “medically appropriate” manner. It also bans transition-related surgeries, though kids rarely receive that procedure. The bill now goes back to the Senate to iron out differences.
