A 50 year old wheelchair bound Paris man has died of injuries he received while crossing Clarksville Street Friday morning. Investigators say William Robert Groom was crossing in the middle of the block when he was struck by a pickup. The driver was not speeding and is cooperating with police. Investigators believe the early morning sun may have prevented the vehicle’s driver from seeing Groom. Groom has no local relatives, and the Salvation Army held funeral services for him Sunday afternoon.
