The No. 2-ranked Baylor men’s basketball team won’t open its season Wednesday against No. 18 Arizona State in the Empire Classic at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. Head coach Scott Drew announced Sunday he tested positive for COVID-19 during team-wide testing, and the Bears won’t make the trip.

Paris gets together with Melissa, Lindale vs. Chapel Hill, Pleasant Grove vs. Caddo Mills, and Gilmer takes on Sunnyvale.

In 3A DI, Mineola is No. 8, and DII has Gunter No. 4 and Waskom No. 10. Mt Vernon takes on Mineola, who is favored by six.
