Rangers Back to Work Tonight Plus Mavericks Summer League Action

 

The Texas Rangers pick up the second half of baseball tonight when they visit the Kansas City Royals to begin a 10-game road trip. The Rangers currently sit at 43-45 on the season or 16.5 games behind the AL West leading Houston Astros and three games out of a wildcard spot in the American League. Texas swept K-C in a four-game set back in April. Martin Perez gets the nod on the hill. The Dallas Mavericks advance in the Summer League playoffs beating the Sacramento Kings, 83-76. Rookie first-round selection, Dennis Smith Jr. lead the way with 25 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two assists. Former Baylor Bear, Jonathan Motley added 15. The Mavs are back on the court tomorrow against Duke’s Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics in the Summer League Quarterfinals.
The women’s finals are set at Wimbledon. Tenth ranked Venus Williams continues an emotional march after beating No. 6 Johanna Konta. Williams will be in the finals against 14th ranked Garbine Muguruza. The men’s Semi-Finals are underway this morning. Roger Federer, ranked 3rd in the world, will take on 11th ranked Tomas Berdych. On the other end of the bracket, 24th ranked Sam Querrey becomes the first American to advance to the Wimbledon Semi-Finals since 2009.  He’ll take on No. 7 Marin Cilic.
And at the Tour de France riders will ride 101 kilometers at stage 13 through Saint-Girons and Foix. Fabio Aru of Italy beings today’s ride in the lead after overtaking Chris Froome.
