The Texas A&M University-Commerce women’s track and field team scored 12 points Saturday at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, finishing in 19th place overall.

The Texas A&M University-Commerce men’s track and field team finished in seventh place Saturday at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, claiming another gold medal in the process. 


The TJC Apaches are back in the NJCAA DIII Championship after a 16-1 statement win over No.1 seed Rowan College.


North Lamar ISD’s Board voted to name Brenton Whitaker as its new head football coach. Whitaker comes from Pittsburg High school, where he was the Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line Coach. Whitaker will enter his tenth season coaching Texas football and head coach for the North Lamar Panthers. Before his time in Pittsburg, Whitaker spent time in Palestine, Carrollton, Farmers Branch, and Marshall.

The Mount Pleasant Tiger Basketball program will host its annual boy’s youth basketball camp June 1-2. The camp will run from 9:00 am to 11:30 am, both days. Campers may register at the door each morning. When making the payment, you need the medical release waiver before campers can participate. The cost for the camp is $30, and any student that completed 3rd-8th grade is welcome to participate.
