Hopkins County Escapee Recaptured

The Hopkins County inmate who walked away from a work detail Monday at the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Sulphur Springs was captured shortly past noon after a lengthy search. TDCJ K9s tracked down 49-year-old Melton Medina-Tuirubiates in a heavily wooded area. Medina-Tuirubiates had been in jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance and now faces additional charges of Escape from Custody and two counts of Burglary.
