Murder Re-Trial Scheduled in Wood County

Testimony in a new trial will begin Tuesday in Wood County District Court for a man convicted of murdering a woman and her son. Jason Payne was found guilty of fatally shooting Nichole Payne and her son Austin Wages at their home in Quitman, but the conviction was overturned by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and a new trial was ordered.
