Hopkins County Man Jailed After Alleged Sledgehammer Attack

Hopkins County Deputies responded to a welfare check on CR-2379 and contacted 62-year-old Mark Lynn Hanson of Pickton. He admitted to deputies that he had struck his cousin in the head with a mini-sledgehammer after an argument. They transported the victim for treatment and arrested Hanson for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The bond was $50,000.
