Winter Weather Likely Wednesday And Thursday, Winter Weather Advisory Issued

A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect Wednesday through Thursday for areas along and northwest of Comanche, Dallas to Paris. A wintry mix of freezing rain and sleet will spread across the region on Wednesday, with another round of wintry weather expected on Thursday. Ice accumulation of 1/10 to 2/10 of an inch will be possible within the advisory area, resulting in hazardous driving conditions.

Winter weather will likely impact the region on Wednesday and Thursday. The first round of precipitation will develop Wednesday and move across the area throughout the day. Occasionally mixed with sleet, freezing rain is expected along and northwest of Comanche, Dallas to Paris, where ice accumulations may exceed 1/10 of an inch. The second round will develop Wednesday night and move east throughout Thursday. More widespread freezing rain is expected with this round before it ends Thursday night. Bridges and overpasses will be the first to freeze, but main road surfaces may become icy as well, mainly north and west of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
