Paris Police Report For Wednesday (Mar 1)

Dakota Hunter Parker

Tuesday morning at 9:08, Dakota Hunter Parker, 28, of Pittsburg, was located across the street on the north side of a business in the 3000 block of Clarksville after officers arrived in the 3100 block of Clarksville for a disturbance in progress. Parker had attempted to start a fire and had broken a window at an apartment in the complex before leaving on foot. Parker was bleeding from his right hand, exhibiting a sign of public intoxication, rambling incoherently, and screaming. EMS treated Parker at the scene. He was later transported to the Paris Police Jail and booked for Arson, a second-degree felony, Criminal Mischief, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Public Intoxication.

At 11:15 Tuesday morning, a victim arrived in the Police Department lobby reporting a Fraud Use Possession of Identifying Information report. The victim had learned that someone had used his information to open an AT&T account and had activated a new phone. They opened the account in May 2022, and payments stopped in November. The department is investigating the incident.

Gregory Darnell Akins

Tuesday night at 9:17, the department received a call of a family disturbance with a female requesting help. Officers responded to the 100-block of NE 25th and heard cries from an apartment. One Officer started beating on the door, and Gregory Darnell Akins, 61, of Paris, opened the door. Officers handcuffed Akins and located the victim upstairs, and they stated that Akins had been hitting her with a belt and choking her. Akins was taken into custody and booked into the Paris Police Jail for Aggravated Assault With A Deadly Weapon and Assault Impeding Breath/Circulation.

The Paris Police Department responded to 73 Calls for Service and arrested five people on Tuesday (Feb 28).
