Republicans Oppose Proposed Oklahoma Tax Increases

A total of 27 Oklahoma Republican legislators are opposing Gov. Mary Fallin’s plan to expand the state sales tax to dozens of services that are currently exempt. With an expected budget shortfall of nearly $880 million, Fallin has proposed expanding the sales tax, along with increases in the tax on cigarettes and motor fuel.
