OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD
LA CROSSE, Wisc. – Competing as the first-ever student-athletes to compete in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, LeTourneau University men’s track and field freshmen pole vaulters Alex Hindman and Austin Parrish finished tied for 16th and 17th, respectively, at the Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin on Saturday, May 26.
Hindman, who also competed at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships, finished tied for 16th after clearing 4.65 meters (15 ft. – 3 in.) before being unable to make 4.80 meters (15 ft. – 9 in.). Parrish failed to clear the opening height of 4.65 (15 ft. – 3 in.) to finish tied for 17th in the nation.
The meet was the final meet for the YellowJackets in their inaugural track and field season, with three outdoor track and field athletes named to the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association All-South Region Team (Alex Hindman, Austin Parrish, Arvin Hrushka). LETU will look to make even more significant strides as a team next season in year two while continuing to qualify athletes for the NCAA Championships.
