Lamar County Reps Want NE Texas Trail Declared State Park

Two state lawmakers whose districts include Lamar County have filed legislation calling for the 130-mile Northeast Texas Trail to become a state park. The Paris News reports that Senator Bryan Hughes wants to make the trail from Farmersville to New Boston a state linear park. Representative Gary VanDeaver has called for an interim feasibility study on the project.
