A vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian in Royse City on FM 2642, just 150 feet from Hwy 66. The driver of the Jeep involved did not see the pedestrian and immediately stopped and contacted 911. Officials did not identify the victim, who died at the scene.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is appealing a state judge’s decision to allow the Harris County clerk to send mail-in ballot applications to all registered voters in the county. Paxton announced Saturday that he’d filed an appeal with the 14th Court of Appeals in Houston.
