Hopkins County Fire Marshal Mike Matthews has been appointed interim Fire Chief, replacing former chief f Kevin Yates who resigned under pressure at this week’s special Commissioners Court meeting. Matthews is currently a firefighter and paramedic with the Longview Fire Department.
