Brush Work To Begin On US 271 South

A roadside improvement project along a portion of US 271 begins on Wednesday, January 3. The contractor will remove trees and brush on the highway from FM 196 North in Lamar County to State Highway 37 in Red River County at Bogata. TxDOT has given the contractor 92 days to complete the $2.2 million project, weather permitting. The target completion date is June 2024.
