  Lamar County deputies are continuing to investigate a residential burglary in the Powderly area.  Investigators say a large gun safe, containing long guns and handguns was stolen. Men’s and women’s jewelry was also taken during the break-in.  

  Paris police were called to the 1100 block of Meadowlark to investigate a vehicle theft. Officers were told that a possible known suspect had taken a pick-up from that location. The vehicle was later recovered in Cooper but the suspect remains at large.

  The Paris City Council will meet at 5:30 and discuss numerous alleged code violations for a number of issues at Gene’s Flea Market.  The council is also expected to approve a grant application for body cameras to be worn by police officers.

  Paris Police responded to the 700 block of Oak Street after receiving a report of a family disturbance. The victim said she had been assaulted by her 36 year old daughter April Sanders. Sanders admitted to the assault and was arrested. The charge was enhanced because of a previous …
