The Texas Department of State Health Services is reporting a case of measles in North Texas, the first case in the state since 2019. Health providers recently diagnosed a young child from Hood County, and the health department says the child hasn’t traveled anywhere where measles is spreading, and no one else has exposed him. Symptoms include fever, rash lasting at least three days, cough, a runny nose, pink eye, and Koplik spots.
