Early voting begins on Monday, April 22, and runs through Tuesday, April 30, for the May 4 Municipal Election in Texas. City Council, School Board, and some hospital board seats are at stake. Some school districts are holding bond elections.
In Hopkins County, the early voting location for the Sulphur Springs City Council is at City Hall at 201 North Davis Street. Oscar Aguilar will face Collyn Seth McDaniel for Place 3 on the council.
There are two bond elections for Hopkins County schools on the ballot for the May 4 Municipal Election. Sulphur Springs ISD voters will decide a $157.15 million bond issue. Sulphur Bluff ISD voters will determine the fate of a $6 million bond proposal.
Early voting for Sulphur Springs ISD is at the Administration Building on Connally Street, and for the Sulphur Bluff bond election, it is at Sulphur Bluff ISD.
