Gulf storms typically affect the price at the pump, but Hurricane Ian is different. This storm is avoiding the areas where there is drilling for oil. Bruce Bullock, who heads the Maguire Energy Institute at SMU, says those gulf rigs prepared for a bend west, but that never happened. Now he says the only worry would be if the storm damages the Cross Country Colonial Pipeline. However, he says that is unlikely.
