Lamar County Burn Ban Expires, COVID Declaration Extended

The Lamar County Commissioners Court has let the ten-day ban on outdoor burning expire. Emergency Management Coordinator Quincy Blount recommended that the ban not be renewed but stressed that we are still in a drought situation and conditions should be carefully monitored. Blount also recommended that commissioners extend the COVID disaster declaration for 90 days. The court had scheduled it to expire Oct 31.
