Forty-one first responders from several jurisdictions in Lamar County held an emergency preparedness drill this week. The purpose of the drill focused on a simulated active shooter situation. Volunteers served as simulated victims. The drill was a test of the ability of police, EMS, fire, and hospital personnel to deal with response time, communications, evacuation of wounded, and elimination of the threat.
