The Eastern District of Texas sentenced Boyd Lynn Gutcher, 51, of Marshall, for federal income tax violation. Butcher pleaded guilty to aiding and assisting in preparing false tax returns and was sentenced to three years in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Rodney Gilstrap on Feb. 27. The court ordered Butcher to pay restitution for $317,252.00.
