Sunday’s UIL Legislative Council meeting

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Tampa Bay Rays will open the World Series in Arlington Tuesday night, and both are sporting the best records after a crazy season. The Dodgers will bat last in Game 1 and 2, and then in 6 and 7, if necessary. Cory Seager held the NLCS MVP after the Dodgers brushed off the Atlanta Braves 4-3 Sunday night.

HIGH SCHOOL
Everyone connected to highs school football is asking about the UIL’s decision and playoffs with COVID-19. The UIL had its first meeting Sunday during the Legislative Council gathering and its director Dr. Susan Elza said, “We are going to be faced with these things when schools are unable to play, and we don’t have runway anymore.” Elza said, “We are going to navigate those as we go through them. There is no prescriptive answer to any of it.” So, your guess is as good as the UIL’s.

Sulphur Springs ISD canceled the Ennis game for this coming Friday.

Friday, Durant, OK, closed their high school, and students go online today because of COVID. Bryan County reported 246 active cases, the highest count in the Texoma area.
