Franklin County won the bid over the weekend to host the Dixie state baseball for 6u T-Ball boys and the 8u coach pitch tournaments for 2021. There will be 32 teams in the June tournaments or 16 for each. Franklin County’s bid for 6u was $12,112 and 8u $9,500. The majority of the money as hot fund money from the City of Mt Vernon and Franklin County. The state playoffs will be at the FC Sports Complex north of Mt Vernon.

The Mt Pleasant Tigers hope to clinch the district championship at home on Tuesday versus the Sulphur Springs Wildcats.
