A court sentenced a longtime North Texas musician to seven years in prison for human trafficking. Pleading guilty to the charges in 2023 was 67-year-old James Stewart. Stewart played for years at bars in the Sherman, Denison, and Durant areas. He must serve at least three and a half years of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
