Eagle Athletes Return to the Nest

Northeast Texas Community College Athletes started arriving on Campus on January 14 in preparation for the upcoming seasons. Athletes coming on campus was spread out over a few days to allow for social distancing and COVID-19 testing. 

Softball and Baseball kicked off their 2021 season with practices starting on Sunday, January 17. Softball will get to see the year’s first action under new Head Coach Joshua Freeman on Wednesday, January 27, as the Eagle Softball team heads to Denison to take on Grayson College in the season opener. The Softball team will follow that with a road trip to San Antonio for the Alamo City Junior College Showcase Tournament. 

Fans can catch the first home games of the season for Baseball and Softball on Saturday, February 6 at 1:00 pm. NTCC and the NJCAA allow fans into contests with reduced capacities, social distancing, and mask required for attendance. 

Rodeo athletes also arrived early and started their 2021 practices on January 19 with PRCA Rodeo Contractor Andrews Rodeo Company, bringing in some practice horses for the athletes. The rodeo will travel to the Hopkins County Rodeo Arena in Sulphur Springs for the Texas A&M University-Commerce Rodeo January 29-30.

Women’s and Men’s Soccer will start practices under new Head Coach Zane Barnes, March 15, with games beginning April 1 going through mid-May.
