Paris Police Report For Monday (Feb 7)

Bryan Scott Pickering

Paris Police responded to a disturbance in the 800-block of SE 33rd St at 6:36 Friday evening. Reportedly, someone had assaulted a female by choking. Officers arrested Bryan Scott Pickering, 50, of Paris, and charged him with assault of a family or household member by impeding breathing. They transferred Pickering to the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to a burglary of a residence in the 300-block of SW 9th St at 6:08 Friday evening. The victim reported that someone had entered their home while away and had stolen numerous items. The incident is under investigation.

Friday evening at 6:43, Paris Police spoke with the victim of a theft that had occurred in the 1100-block of Pine Bluff St. The victim reported that his father owns the residence and no one has lived there for several months. The victim found that someone had removed a vehicle from that property. The victim advised that he had not given anyone permission to do so. The investigation continues.

Marcus Daniel Ellis

Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 3000-block of Clarksville Friday night at 11:11 for a defective headlamp violation. In addition, the driver, Marcus Daniel Ellis, 50, of Paris, had an outstanding felony probation violation warrant. Ellis was arrested and later placed in the Lamar County Jail.

Jody Paul Haagensen

Paris Police stopped a vehicle for a headlamp violation in the 10-block of NW 3rd St at 1:40 Monday morning. The driver, Jody Paul Haagensen, 42, of Paris, had possession of marijuana and more than one gram of methamphetamine. Haagensen was arrested and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to 178 calls for service and arrested five people over the weekend ending at midnight on Sunday (Feb 6).
