It was great when they arrived, but it got worse the longer the Cowboys stayed at AT&T Monday. Zeke Elliott fumbled on two consecutive drives resulting in points as the Arizona Cardinals destroyed the Cowboys 38 – 10 in a game that was nowhere near that close. Quarterback Andy Dalton was a non-factor. The Cowboys turned the ball over four times and only scored one touchdown after an 18-play drive in the fourth, assisted by three pass interference penalties on the Cardinals.
Patrick Mahomes, of Whitehouse, became the youngest quarterback to hit the 90-touchdown mark, and it only took 37 games. He passed Hall of Famer Dan Marino, who did it in 40 games.

Texas A&M University-Commerce’s freshman Nicodemus Rotich, of Kenya, claimed his third sweep in the cross-country Monday. He is the first to claim that honor at Commerce since Turner Pool in 2016. The University is also naming Kate Bruning as the Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine.

Tyler Chapel Hill gets a win after Mabank forfeited Friday’s game because of COVID. Spring Hill canceled last week’s Liberty-Eylau game and added Pleasant Grove to the no-play list this Friday. Sulphur Springs made it official Monday morning that they would not play against Ennis this week. Paris Wildcats canceled its 8th-grade football game tonight at Celina because of COVID.
The UIL’s Legislative Council meet the last two days on rule changes in music, academics, and COVID concerns. They delayed Water Polo, State Chamber Music Contest, and Sight Reading.
