Officers arrested Jiamon Daquann Bailey, 21, of Paris, at the Lamar County Probation office on a warrant charging him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon at 8:33 am Monday. They later placed Bailey in the Lamar County Jail.
Tami Rae Lane
Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 1300-block of Pine Bluff St at 1:31 Monday afternoon for a traffic violation. K-9 Cupa alerted that narcotics were inside, and the passenger, Tami Rae Lane, 53, of Paris, had possession of methamphetamine. Officers arrested her, and she is in Lamar County Jail.
Tana Lynn Washington
Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 600-block of NW 19th Monday afternoon at 3:21. The driver, Tana Lynn Washington, 51, had possession of a small amount of cocaine. They arrested her, and she is in Lamar County Jail.
David Duane Bryant
Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 2200-block of Bonham St at 3:37 Monday afternoon for a seat belt violation. During the stop, officers observed possibly methamphetamine in the open glove box. The investigation proved that the substance was methamphetamine and placed the driver, David Duane Bryant, 55, under arrest. They charged Bryant with possession of a controlled substance and discovered he had a fraudulent California driver’s license. That landed him with an additional charge of tampering with a government document. He is in the Lamar County Jail.
Donald Young
Officers arrested Donald Young, 51, of Clarksville, at 5:09 pm Monday on a parole violation warrant at the Paris District Parole Office. While transferring Young to the Lamar County Jail, officers found a small baggie containing methamphetamine. They additionally charged him with possession of a prohibited substance in a correctional facility.
Ashton Dane Newman
Paris Police responded to a terroristic threat in the 900-block of Clarksville St at 10:00 Monday night. The 46-year-old female victim reported that three males approached her and her son while walking along the sidewalk. A white male asked her for money, and the victim replied that she did not have any, and he was capable of finding a job. The suspect became agitated and produced a pistol and threatened her. The three suspects then fled the scene on foot. The suspect, identified as Ashton Dane Newman, 18, of Paris, was located a few blocks away. He had an outstanding warrant out of Red River County for possession of marijuana of fewer than two ounces. One of the other two suspects was located and had control of a pistol. Police then charged Newman with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A third person was arrested on two Lamar County misdemeanor warrants and failing to identify by giving a false name. The incident is under investigation. All three are waiting for transfer to the Lamar County Jail.
