School Crossing Guard Struck and Killed

A freak accident killed a school crossing guard in Rockwall County Monday morning. Crossing guard Melissa Williams was on duty at Vernon Elementary School in Fate, helping students cross the street. A parent suffered a medical emergency that sent her car into the guard just seconds after dropping a student off. Williams died a short time later.
