Texas House Strips Vouchers From Education Bill

The Texas House voted Friday to eliminate school vouchers from the chamber’s massive education funding bill. Three Republicans representing East Texas favored the amendment: Travis Clardy of Nacogdoches, Jay Dean of Longview, and Gary VanDeaver of New Boston). Eighteen other Republicans, most representing rural districts, joined all Democrats in support.
