The economic impact of our state’s weeklong freeze and power outages could rival the damage caused by some of the most destructive hurricanes. The Texas-based economic research firm the Perryman Group predicts that the winter storms could end up costing a total of $195 billion on the low end and as much as $295 billion when you include lost income and long-term reductions in economic output.
