The College Football Playoff announced Thursday it would consider expanding from four to 12 teams to settle the championship. But, instead, they reserved six spots for the highest-ranked conference champions and the other six going to at-large selections. “This proposal, at its heart, was created to provide more participation,” CFP Executive Director Bill Hancock said.

After several hours of deliberation Wednesday, a Houston jury found that Baylor and three former football players were not responsible for the alleged sexual assault of a female athlete in 2017. The woman alleged in a 2019 lawsuit that she was intoxicated without her consent and raped in her room in a university housing complex. That was in the fall of 2017. A year and a half after the school fired head football coach Art Briles.

When the Bassmaster Classic, the Super Bowl of fishing, hits the water this weekend, Lake Ray Roberts will list the best fishermen in the world. And Deion Sanders isn’t one of them. The former Dallas Cowboy was just one of the big names competing at Wednesday’s Bassmaster Celebrity Fishing Tournament on Lake Lewisville ahead of Friday’s main event.
