Local Baseball and Softball Tonight Plus Stars Stay Hot in Today’s Sports

Paris – The area round of high school soccer playoffs begin tonight.  The Paris Wildcats and Lady Cats will both be in Kaufman with the girls playing Farris at 5:30. The boys will follow against Kaufman at 7:30.  North Lamar boys play Crandall at Ford Stadium in Longview at 8pm.  The Pantherette’s play Kaufman at 6. The North Lamar baseball and softball will be live on MIX 107.7 when they host Pleasant Grove.  Pre-game this evening on MIX for North Lamar baseball begins at 7:20. The Pantherette’s will play tomorrow at 2pm. Pre-game starts at 1:50.  The Paris Wildcats are 1-1 in district play and will visit the Pittsburg Pirates.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:30.
MP – Area baseball and softball teams return to action tonight.  The Mt. Pleasant Tigers look to stay on track to the post season when they visit the Marshall Mavericks.  Both teams are 3-2 in district 15-5A, tied for 2nd place.  First pitch is scheduled for 7pm.  The Lady Tiger softball team will be at home against the Lady Mavs.  The Mt. Pleasant softball team is 6-1 on the season for soul possession of 2nd place.  Game time is 6pm.  The Chapel Hill Red Devils and Lady Devils will be on the road against Queen City.  Softball starts at 5:30. Baseball follows at 7.
SS – The area round of the girls high school soccer playoffs begin tonight.  The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats will be at Terrell Memorial Stadium against Waxahachie.  Start time is at 8pm. In high school baseball and softball the Wildcats will be on the road against the Longview Lobos.  At 2-3 the Wildcats are one game out of playoff position. First pitch is at 7pm.  While the Sulphur Springs Lady Cat softball team hosts Longview at 6pm. With a 4-3 record the Lady Cats are tied for 3rd in district play with Pine Tree.  And the Mt. Vernon Tigers and Lady Tigers will be on the road against Hughes Springs starting with softball at 5:30. Baseball begins at 7.
Last night in the NHL the Dallas Stars took down the Arizona Coyotes 3-1. Jamie Benn scored his 40th goal of the season in the 2nd period and added an assists in the 3rd.  Benn is 2nd in the NHL with 87 total points.  With the victory the Stars have now won six of their last seven games and lead the Western Conference with 103 points on the season. Dallas Stars hockey returns tomorrow against the LA Kings.  Puck drop is set for 3pm.
The Dallas Mavericks return to action tonight when they take on the Detroit Pistons on the road.  The Mavs are currently 37-38 on the season and are currently tied with Utah for 8th place in the Western Conference, and are half a game up on the Houston Rockets. The Mavs begin the month of April against the Pistons with tip off set for 6:30.
The NCAA Tournament picks back up tomorrow night with the Final Four.  Tomorrow night a pair of 2 seeds square off when the Oklahoma Sooners face the Villanova Wildcats.  Tip off is scheduled for 6:09.  Following that game, the top seeded North Carolina Tar Heels face the 10th seeded Syracuse Orange.  Tip off tomorrow is scheduled for 8:49pm. The National Championship game will be held on Monday.
