Police Officer Assigned To High School Accidentally Discharges Weapon

A Mesquite Police Officer accidentally fired his handgun at Horn High School Thursday. Investigators say the School Resource Officer was inspecting his handgun and unloading it when it went off. Apparently, he forgot to eject a round of ammunition from the chamber. No one was hurt from the incident. The officer is under investigation and is subject to disciplinary action.
