Under Armour Student-Athlete of the Week was Nya Mitchell.
COMMERCE – Texas A&M University-Commerce soccer team’s Nya Mitchell has been named this week’s Under Armour Student-Athlete of the Week.
Mitchell (Dallas – Mesquite Horn) guided the Lions to a 1-0-1 week, shutting out Nicholls on Friday and tying UIW, 1-1, on Sunday. In the win over the Colonels, the Lions allowed just eight shots, with four landing on goal. She played all 180 minutes last weekend.
The Lions head to McNeese for the final regular season match on Friday at 6 p.m. in a crucial battle of SLC Tournament seeding.
The Under Armour Student-Athlete of the Week is awarded by Lion Athletics each week during the academic year.
