Child Porn Trial For Powderly Man Today

A bench trial is scheduled for today in Sixth District Court in Lamar County for Jimmy Carr of Powderly for possession of child pornography and assaulting police officers. Carr had previously pleaded guilty, but since he reportedly could not remember committing the offenses, that plea was withdrawn and he is expected to plead not guilty. He faces between two and ten years in prison on each of the ten counts against him.
