East Texas Murder Conviction Upheld

The 12th Court of Appeals has upheld an East Texas murder conviction. The panel affirmed the conviction of 22 year old Carlton Ray Champion Jr  of Tyler,. who was sentenced to life in prison for killing 24 year old Tyrone Lee Underwood, a transgendered woman. Investigators say the two were romantically involved at one time.
