The Van Zandt County man killed in a single-vehicle crash on Wednesday, December 27, was 65-year-old Michael Miller of Canton. Troopers say Miller was traveling east on SH 64 east of Canton, left the roadway, and struck a concrete culvert. This investigation is ongoing, and no additional information is available.

Longview Police responded to a report of an unknown problem and found a deceased woman lying on the railroad tracks. Police said a train had struck the woman. The Longview and Union Pacific Railroad Police are investigating this case.

An 18-wheeler’s load flipped to its side, overturning the trailer at Miller’s Cove Tuesday morning. DPS said there were no injuries.
